Swimming In Blessings

Swimming In Blessings November 5, 2023

It’s my birthday week; Friday is the big day. I’m super excited. I always am. I’m also very reflective. I have overflowing joy and gratitude because I almost ran out of birthdays a few years ago. I am a real-life miracle, and I celebrate that every day, but especially on my birthday.

As I think about all of the things I have survived—near death, near divorce, crazy work environments, crazy home environments, financial turmoil, and more. I count it a blessing to be alive and in my right mind. It makes me appreciative of this season I’m in and the Word of God coming to pass in my life.

My favorite scripture is the Message version of Amos 9:13 which reads:

‭Yes indeed, it won’t be long now. God’s Decree. Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills.

Then further down, it says, “God, your God, says so.” That’s something to shout about! HALLELUJAH! If we believe God’s Word and remain obedient to the whispers of the Holy Spirit we will be swimming in blessings! God is so loving and benevolent that He wishes to drench us with His outpouring of blessings, but everyone won’t be positioned to receive. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be one in that number. I want to be included in the downpour. So how do we make sure that we aren’t left out or left behind? I’ll tell you.

It’s very simple, actually. Just make sure that you spend time in prayer and praise. Praying by faith means you are communicating with your Creator. Praise means you are acknowledging Him and giving thanks. That’s a recipe to receive. Now the other side of prayer and praise, you listening and taking action. Life application of the scriptures is absolutely essential. This is sure to get your mindset and your heartset aligned with God’s desires for you. Then things will begin to happen for you, and fast.

You’ve felt those cold winds whipping through this past week. As fast as that temperature dropped, that is how fast God can show up. As a matter of fact, God can move much faster. If you tap into the supernatural obedience and consistency in your prayer and praise, you will see it for yourself. Blessings will begin manifesting so fast. Amos 9 will become your life. You can experience an overwhelming harvest season.

Just this week, I realized I had to step my faith game up. I realized that my everyday mental and spiritual flow was not matching what I was teaching and preaching. I had to check myself. I came to understand that I had, in fact, gotten a little spiritually lazy. I got back into the Santa Claus mentality, like God was just gonna drop things off in my living room under my tree. I wasn’t using the tools I had at my disposal. The main one being speaking the word of faith. I had to get back to putting God in remembrance of His Word. Not that He forgot, but to show Him that I remembered and that I wanted what I was eligible for.

As a King’s Kid I don’t have to beg or be afraid. When I open my mouth, things happen. I change the atmosphere; it doesn’t change me. So I moved in that vein this week, and it revived me. And guess what? God showed up. God showed me that He heard me. I’m about ready to go for a swim. How about you?
