Emphasis on quality

Emphasis on quality November 11, 2023

What have you done for me lately? Not you, me.

A minor change is coming. I’ve never had much confidence in those who are required to write a certain number of columns weekly. You end up speaking out your …. The Internet and publishing are geared toward: “What have you done for me lately?” I get it. The more you get your product out there, the more featured you will be … or if not, buried in the forgotten past. This is the way the system works.

For two years I’ve gratefully done this on Patheos, and I’ve long done it on other platforms as well. This is despite two major surgeries, COVID again due to where I live even though I am vaccinated, and this year having to make major revisions to our home for others, which put creative work on pause for much of the year. Challenges aren’t unique to me, as I know others faced similar or worse challenges. Hats off to them!

My focus is always on high quality. I create well-researched articles, books, podcasts, and videocasts that people can rely on to be well researched, fair-minded, helpful, and unbiased, even though they reflect a relatively consistent point of view of God’s love for all of us and of what spirituality means in our lives. And it’s not easy to root out the poisons that have been injected over 3000 years. This ministry is my calling, and I don’t take lightly the responsibility of accurately informing others.

Although I’m well educated and experienced in these fields, quality takes time to achieve. I’m not getting as much creative output done as needed or maybe expected by others.

When considering my vision for what I want to accomplish, which is informing others, especially new generations, with quality information in helpful ways in many media, it’s obvious that to produce work of high quality, I have to focus more on preparation and less on quantity in any specific medium. At least three books are waiting to be compiled and massaged into print. Videocasts take at least as much time as writing an article and script, and I may make some into movies.

I prefer to be known for quality, not endless prattle. So please continue to expect high-quality articles from me that take more time to produce.
