God Restored My Stolen Ring!

The Power of Blessing and Releasing

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who had some of her things stolen.  I don’t know if any of you have ever had stuff stolen, but I have.  It’s even more difficult to deal with when the item stolen has special significance.

Thank Heaven I understand the Power of Blessing and Releasing!  I once had a ring stolen out of my locker at a local gym.  I knew better than to place valuable items in those lockers, and after that incident I started locking my stuff in the trunk of my car and keeping my car keys with me during my workout.

I Blessed and Released the Ring to God

The ring that was stolen had special significance for me.  I had the ring designed for me by a jeweler.  The main stone was lapis lazuli and there were about 30 Pave’ diamonds surrounding it.  I was devastated!

I sat down on a bench, trying to keep from crying.  Then I remembered a Bible verse, 1 Peter 3:9: “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”

I said, “Oh well, Lord.  It’s only a ‘thing.’  I don’t know what happened to it.  If someone took it, then I bless them, I bless the ring, and I release it to You.  There is nothing in this world that I can’t live without, Lord, except You.”

I Posted a “Lost Ring” Notice and Forgot About It

I filled out a postcard provided by the front desk, announcing a lost ring with its description, stuck it to the bulletin board and forgot about it.  My friends all wanted me to file a police report, but I knew that would mean for sure I’d never see that ring again!  I preferred to leave it in God’s hands.

God Restored My Stolen Ring!

THREE MONTHS LATER I walked into the health club and the clerk at the desk looked up.  When he saw me, he motioned for me to come over.  He asked, “Aren’t you the lady who lost the ring with the blue stone in it awhile back?” I nodded my head, yes.  He said, “Well someone turned it in yesterday.”  He opened a drawer behind the desk – AND PULLED OUT MY BEAUTIFUL LAPIS AND DIAMOND RING!  I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!   Thank You Dear God!

Another Example of “Giving it to God”

The suggestion of “Giving it to God” was never truer than for my friend Rebecca. Rebecca is a brilliant woman with many talents and abilities. I received a call last year from an attorney with a law firm in Mississippi that was representing a mortgage company being sued by one of their borrowers. They called me to see if I could help them find a particular “expert witness” to help them defend the suit.

My Friend Rebecca Was Perfect for This Task

The more the attorney described the person they were looking for, the more it sounded like my friend Rebecca, so I recommended her. I told them I would call her to see if she was interested. When I called her and related their needs, she became very excited and said she’d follow up with them.

Rebecca Did a Great Job but Couldn’t Get Paid!

Rebecca got the job! She spent about four months traveling all over the country gathering data for them.  Because of the material she put together and because of her “expert witness” testimony, they won the lawsuit!

She stopped by to see me and I asked her about the lawsuit. She described what she did for them and told me how her testimony, combined with the information she compiled for them, pretty much guaranteed they would win, but there was one little problem — THEY WOULDN’T PAY HER!

They Owed Her Over $15,000!

She scrounged around in her briefcase and pulled out the invoice she had sent them, which included not only payment for her time but reimbursement for her extensive travel expenses – money she had paid out of her own pocket. They owed her over $15,000! She had been trying to collect from them for months and they just refused to pay!

I told her I felt terrible! After all, it was I who recommended her for the job. She said, “Don’t worry about it, Kathy. I appreciate your thinking of me and I’m glad I had the opportunity to do this kind of work. I guess I’ll have to hire an attorney and pursue it through the courts.”

I Suggested that We Bless and Release It to God

I said, “Before you do that, let me see that bill.” I took the bill and laid it on my desk and told Rebecca to put her hand on it. I then placed my hand on top of hers and said, “Lord, we know all blessings come from You.

“For whatever reason these people haven’t paid we release it and bless them. We know You are our source and we know You will provide. We thank You, Lord, for always taking such good care of us. IT IS DONE!”

I handed the bill back to Rebecca and said, “There is no better place to put this debt, Rebecca. Trust me – something will happen.” Rebecca is a believer, so she agreed to let it go.

Rebecca Received Her Money Within the Week!

About a week later one of my employees brought me a fax – from Rebecca – IT WAS A COPY OF THE $15,000+ CHECK SHE HAD RECEIVED FROM THE LAW FIRM IN MISSISSIPPI!

Scrawled across the fax was Rebecca’s note: “See, Kathy? Miracles really work! Bless you!”
